The American Elderberry (Sambucus canadensis) is a native shrub that can be found throughout North America. Its clusters of dark purple berries have been used for centuries in traditional medicine and can be made into jams, jellies, and syrups. This versatile plant thrives in full to part sun and can reach a mature height of 5-12 feet. With its beautiful white flowers in the spring and attractive fruit in the fall, the American Elderberry is a perfect addition to any native plant garden.

These cuttings are taken during winter dormancy. They can easily be stored in a cool, most location throughout the winter, or stuck directly into rich soil outdoors. We recomend protecting them with leaves/mulch if planted outside during winter.
