Pink Bougainvillea

Pink Bougainvillea (Bougainvillea spp.) – Starter in 4" Pot

A vibrant and fast-growing tropical species, Bougainvillea is prized for its intense red bracts, which surround small white flowers and provide a dramatic display for much of the year. Its woody, vine-like growth habit and ability to develop gnarly, aged trunks over time make it a unique and rewarding species for bonsai.

As a Bonsai:

Bougainvillea can be trained into stunning, flowering bonsai with its natural ability to develop strong trunks and dynamic movement. It thrives with frequent pruning, but its woody vines can be brittle, so wiring should be done with care. Leaves reduce well, and its striking bracts add an extra layer of beauty. It prefers drier soil between waterings and thrives in full sun.

📢 This is a tropical species—it should be grown outdoors during the warmer months but brought indoors when night temperatures drop below ~50°F.
