The Silver Maple (Acer saccharinum) is an extremely vigorous maple native to eastern North America. In the ground, these trees can sometimes grow to 6ft by their second year. While silver Maple is uncommon in bonsai due to its large leaves, its a great choice for those wanting to explore challenging native species, particularly for larger specimen bonsai. Fall color ranges from oranges to yellow, and sometimes red.
