Trident Maple (Acer buergerianum) is a beautiful deciduous maple species native to East Asia. Tridents make a popular choice for bonsai with their small, three-lobed leaves that turn vibrant shades of red, orange, and yellow in the fall, and vigorous nature. Like many traditional bonsai species, this species is an outdoor species requiring winter dormancy. In the ground, Tridents are hardy down to zone 5, however we recommend winter protection
