White Bougainvillea (Bougainvillea spp.) – Starter in 4" Pot

Bougainvillea is a vigorous, flowering tropical species known for its brilliant white bracts that surround small, inconspicuous flowers. It develops a woody, vine-like growth habit, allowing for strong trunk formation and dynamic styling over time. With proper care, it produces a striking display of color for much of the year and thrives in warm, sunny conditions.

    As a Bonsai:

Bougainvillea is a rewarding species for bonsai, capable of developing twisting trunks and impressive movement. It responds well to frequent pruning, but its woody branches can be brittle, requiring careful wiring. Leaves reduce well, and its vibrant bracts make it a standout flowering bonsai. It prefers drier conditions between waterings and performs best in full sun.

📢 This is a tropical species—it should be grown outdoors during the warmer months but brought indoors when night temperatures drop below ~50°F.
