This Bald Cypress has been planted through a disc to girdle the tap root, encouraging the development of a broad nebari (surface root flare)—a technique that sets it apart as superior starter material. Already on the right path toward becoming a striking bonsai with a strong, stable base. You can pot up or plant out as is, or easily root prune off roots under the disc while dormant and pot it up in your favorite bonsai pot!

Cold-hardy to Zone 4; requires winter dormancy and should be kept outdoors year-round

High water needs, especially during the growing season, and can tolerate standing water
