Staked Blue Rug Juniper
 
Typically known as a low-growing, ground-covering juniper, these Blue Rug Junipers have been staked and trained to grow upright giving them a whole new dimension, while leaving plenty of branches to build from. This uncommon vertical form opens the door to unique bonsai styling or use as small garden specimen trees with cascading or windswept potential.
 
Care Notes:
Light: Full sun (evening shade may help in hot climates)
Fertilizer: Moderate during active growth
Bark: Reddish-brown and fibrous with age
Trained Height: 24-30"
Water: Low to moderate; very drought-tolerant once established
 
📢 This is a cold-hardy species, hardy down to zone 3—it requires a winter dormancy and should be kept outside year-round. In locations with extreme cold, we recommend placing it on the ground, mulching around the pot, and protecting it from wind.
