A thick-trunked Ogre Jade with tubular, cupped leaves that give this variety its nickname. The trunk has good girth for its size, and the canopy has been started with branching that can be shaped further into pads. Well-suited for informal upright styling or left to bulk up naturally into a more sculptural form.‘Ogre Ears’ Jade is a quirky cultivar of Crassula ovata, known for its tubular foliage and easy care. With time, it will continue to thicken and gain character, while remaining one of the most forgiving species for beginners or casual growers.
Care Notes:
Tropical; protect from cold. Bring indoors once night temps drop below ~50°F, but grow outdoors in warm weather for best results.
Prefers full sun; can adapt to bright indoor light if overwintered.
Drought-tolerant but grows stronger with consistent watering during active growth; allow soil to dry slightly between waterings.
Best shaped with clip-and-grow techniques; wiring is less effective on mature branches.
