Serissa Bonsai
Serissa Bonsai (Serissa foetida)
Styled bonsai in a small ceramic pot (pot color and style will vary). Compact, with tight foliage and fine ramification beginning to develop. Sometimes called "Tree of a Thousand Stars" for its small white blooms, Serissa is a subtropical species valued for its delicate leaves and twiggy growth.
It’s a bit fussy compared to other beginner bonsai—sensitive to overwatering, under-watering, and sudden changes in environment—but rewards consistent care with great structure and occasional flowers. Best suited for growers who already have a bit of experience or patience.
📢 Subtropical species. Thrives in warm conditions and benefits from a brief cool period in winter (around 55–65°F), but should be grown outdoors during the growing season for best results.
Care tips:
Full sun to partial shade; avoid deep shade
Keep soil evenly moist—never bone dry, never soggy
Protect from sudden changes in light, temp, or humidity
Prune regularly to maintain shape and encourage ramification
